Windows Live Writer

 

I do not know if I am late to find this and may sound like technically backward.  I discovered this tool called Windows Live Writer which might have been around for a while. This post is just to test it out and see how it looks and works. Fellow bloggers out there must be using this and I think this might actually make me blog a lot more.

The elusive WII

I have never been much of a gamer. I know that sounds crazy but it is true. Growing up I was content to spend time with books than games. It was also not a very popular thing where I grew up. So imagine my surprise when Arpan comes back from pre school one day and says

" Achan - I want XBox".

I asked him what will he do with it and he goes all proud - "I will play with it. "

What a difference from when I was a kid. I dont think I even saw a TV when I was 4.

A week later he changed his mind and wanted a WII. I guess kids are allowed to change their mind every day.

Since I did not know too much about WII, I walked in to the nearest Best Buy and told the guy I needed a WII. He looked at me like I was crazy and said so do hundreds of others. I was glad I did not go and complain to the manager about the rude salesman. He would have thought I was not from this planet.

Researching the WII has helped me understand the attitude of the salesman. Arpan was all upset when we walked out of there without the WII. I had to promise that I will buy him one tomorrow.

I think my night will be spent on this.

Planet Aid

This week started off my oft postponed spring cleaning. The start resulted in a lot of clothes which I did not realize I had. Plus my son's clothes from thepast 3 years, which we did not get rid of due to various sentimental reasons.

Lazy Weekend

Every weekend I plan a lotof stuff- and every Monday I realize those are never done.

The tasks I had planned for this weekend was to file tax returns and start of my spring cleaning. Even the promise of getting money back fromUncle Sam did not help me achieve this.

All I accomplished was watching a few movies on HBO.

Disturbia - A pretty interesting look at a disturbed suburbia - Worth a few chills
DeathProof - This was a movie I had not even heard of - and it was written and directedby Quentin Tarantino, one of my favorites. Not a bad movie and I kinda enjoyed it.

All the tasks of this week has been postponed to next week.

My brothers visa came and he is moving to UK tomorrow. Spent a few hours talking with folks at home who are a little apprehensive about the move. One more guy moves out - What a sad day for the country.

New Year Resolution

This must be the most popular topic this time of the year. The temptation to not join the bandwagon being there, sadly and unfortunately I have to. Apart from the usual resolutions that many people make and break, the ones that I am determined not to break are



1) Lose my beer belly. The sad part about this condition is that I am not fat- every part except my belly is where I would like it to be. This is one resolution I intend to keep at all costs. The first part of the plan has been successful so far. I have not touched a beer till date. I know it is only the 7th. But 7 days is a major achievment.

2) Spend more time with my son. Though this has always been a priority lot of events in my life in the past one year had been interfering . This year will mark a change in that. Unless my work requires me to travel around the country whichhas unfortunately happened too much in the past( there you go - already an if)

3) Start my blog. This blog is my testimony and first step in that direction.
